Everything [in] Between: grief & hope | Easter Worship | April 20, 2025
You’re catching us at the grand finale of a Lent-long adventure we called “Everything In Between.” Instead of pretending faith is neat and tidy, we embraced the fact that most of life happens in the messy middle. We tackled all the awkward tensions: Faith & works. Rest & growth. Righteousness & mercy. Power & humility.
Basically, we asked: what if God isn’t just at the mountaintop or in the valley—but somewhere in the foggy, weird, emotionally-confusing car ride between the two? We looked at familiar stories from the Gospel of Luke—the Good Samaritan, fig trees, Zacchaeus doing his best squirrel impression in a tree—and tried to notice where Jesus shows up: not just with the “holy” people, but with the stubborn, the struggling, and the slightly sarcastic. And now—today—we land on Easter. The in between of grief and hope.
Of “He is risen!” and “Wait, what just happened??”
So, if you brought some doubts, good. We listen and we don’t judge.
If you’re carrying grief right alongside your celebration—that's ok, too. Easter was never about pretending everything’s fine. It’s about discovering that even when things aren’t fine, hope still shows up anyway…
